QLD:Ipswich flood tribute unveiled
BRISBANE, Jan 11 AAP - A flood marker dubbed the pillar of courage is being unveiled
in Ipswich, a year on from the devastating floods that swallowed vast swathes of the city.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has told a service that the city, west of Brisbane, has
staged a remarkable recovery in the year since the disaster but the recovery and healing
continues.
"We stand here together, we stand in the balance of what has happened and what is yet
to come," she told the service.
